BERNARDS’ LOCAL & DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS COMMITMENT: OUR STATEMENT

Bernards understands that we strengthen our own business through our commitment to create opportunities for DBE/MBE/SBE and DVBE businesses and contractors to participate effectively in major contracts.

We have a long history of supporting the growth and vitality of emerging local and disadvantaged businesses, as well as promoting local worker staffing on our projects.

We know the efforts we expend to locate and facilitate the inclusion of these businesses and workers creates positive impacts within the communities in which we work and live.

Bernards’ commitment to nondiscrimination and equal employment of suppliers is inherent in our culture and we believe it is critical to our company’s success.

We’re vigilant in ensuring compliance with the diversity goals set forth for the projects we implement, as well as all applicable laws related to diversity and equal employment opportunities.

This includes our vigorous support of diversity initiatives such as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE), and Disadvantaged Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) program.

We help to further educate and train the individuals who comprise these businesses, helping entrepreneurs and employees to achieve their full potential.

Because of our commitment, Bernards has an excellent record of meeting and exceeding established contract goals, fulfilling contract compliance rules and tracking our accomplishments.
